| Grace or Works We are saved by grace, not works. But it is never without works. The key is "Not of OUR works"...... We are saved by faith through the grace of the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, when we accept Him, repent, and are baptized, which brings the Holy Spirit into our lives, which in turn allows us to obey Jesus' commandments. We simply have to follow the Spirit and not the flesh. We cannot do it on our own, so yes, we are saved by grace. But, as many verses clearly point out, this is certainly not an excuse to sin. We always have a choice to accept this grace (follow the Spirit) or reject it (follow the flesh). Grace is NEVER an excuse to sin. In fact, it's our only true means of avoiding sin! Jesus died to save us FROM our sins, not to save us IN our sins. But it is by grace alone..... (Grace RESULTING in works) |
